My Camino Route in 2023
This year (2023), I will be walking my tenth Camino in thirteen years. This time I plan to walk the Camino Sanabres from Zamora to Lalin, the the Camino Invierno from Ponferrada to Santiago. The route is shown with the red line on the map.

Vilar de Barrios 23 September 2024

 The plan was to make a fifteen mile walk to Albergueria which included a grueling and tiring 1400 foot climb in three miles at the end. When I reached the private albergue there, the owner there was no space, a group had reserved all the beds. I had no choice but to walk another five miles to Vilar de Barrio, getting there at 3 pm after walking about eight hours. Tired guy tonight, will sleep well. Still had time for a menu del dia late this afternoon. I definitely plan a shorter day for tomorrow.

Afternoon steep climb
Typical bar/restaurant scene, retired pensioners enjoying a card game 
Primer Plata, Fabadas ( white beans with bacon and chorizo 
And then salmon (pears for dessert)

    Hello Jonh, that was a pitty that was no space at the albergue and you have had to walk more but you are very strong and you must be very tired, so with a nice dinner that you had you recover your fisical condition.
    The albergue that you show at your picture is a nice one, we stayed too. Receive a hug.
