My Camino Route in 2023

My Camino Route in 2023
This year (2023), I will be walking my tenth Camino in thirteen years. This time I plan to walk the Camino Sanabres from Zamora to Lalin, the the Camino Invierno from Ponferrada to Santiago. The route is shown with the red line on the map.

Getting ready for this year's camino

I have been walking all year long, generally 5-7 mile walks near home along Cache Creek, Sacramento River, Yolo Bypass, and Ridge Cut Slough. Lately I am ramping it up a bit to do two ten mile walks and several shorter ones per week. I find that I am pretty consistently doing 16 1/2-17 minute miles, thus a ten mile walk takes right around 3 hours or a little less.

I will fly to Madrid on August 23, meeting up with Greg at the airport, then on by bus to San Sebastian to start our walk. I need to finalize my packing list and make sure I have all the items I plan on taking.
